Faizah A. Rajput is an artist, designer, & writer from Southern California.
She has her BA in English Creative Writing from Cal State University San Bernardino and an MFA in Writing from Otis College of Art & Design, where she was in the publishing track and participated in all aspects of book design and publishing, everything from pre-production to production and post-production.
In 2019, Faizah was a Los Angeles Review of Books Publishing Fellow nominated by Otis College of Art & Design for an AICAD Post-Graduate Teaching Fellowship. She is passionate about art, equality, inclusion, and mentorship.
Apart from her graduate thesis, an unpublished memoir, Faizah enjoys writing fiction, conducting extensive research, and imagining new and classic ways to construct narratives.
Her writing and research explore themes predominantly driven by strong female leads, history, mysteries, feminist gothic horror, and dark comedies.
Currently, she is most interested in the intersections surrounding collective and independent culture and the limitations of human constructs imposed by the patriarchy, philosophy, and experimental forms of creative writing, painting, photography, spirituality, music, making love, eating carbs, taking care of her health, and staying in the present moment.
When she’s not creating, she’s spending time with her beloved, runty, red, short-tail Cattle dog, a true (spiritual) Heeler named Rose.
Faizah is a proud member of PEN AMERICA & AWP.
